Oxford has ranked 2nd in UK for economic output - and a large contributing factor to that is the tech sector. 

From personal experience, this doesn't really come across as a surprise. Anecdotally, Oxford seems to have more than of it's fair share of established tech businesses, and especially tech start ups.

A knock on effect of this is that when it comes to recruitment in Oxford, particularly within software development, good candidates find themselves in a strong position, with doors opening all over the place. 

I'd urge anyone getting tired of the big smoke and looking for a change to consider Oxford. There are lots of opportunities here for skilled people working in tech industries.
